The moment you realise you can order from Everlane now that you live in Australia.

Despite previously living in the UK and not being able to order from their site, Everlane is a brand that I have been a fan of for a long time now. Their basic designs are simple and elegant, and their transparent business model is one I wish more brands would follow.

If you are unaware, Everlane lists out the cost of all of the materials for each item, so you know exactly what you are paying for. They also use ethical factories to ensure their workers have fair wages and working conditions – they even have a section on their site where you can get to know each factory that they work with.

When I moved to Australia, choosing which denim to take with me was one of the hardest packing decisions I had to make. As jeans are generally quite heavy, I couldn’t take as many pairs as I wanted. It made me realise how much I love denim and how it is the base of so many of my outfits.

So when I realised that I could order from Everlane, I immediately went browsing on their denim section. Most of the jeans that I brought with me are skinny jeans, so I thought I would also take this opportunity to purchase a different kind of fit than I am used to. Enter the Everlane kick crop jean.

Everlane claims that the fit of these jeans will lengthen your legs, something I look for in all of my outfits to help out my little 5’2 frame. They have a raw hem so that you can cut it to your preferred length, and even provide a little instruction card on it.

The Fit

When I read reviews for these jeans, quite a lot of them said that the thigh was super tight. When it comes to jeans I’m normally a size 24 or 25 depending on the brand or the cut, so decided to go for a 25 just in case. I definitely made the right decision. When I first tried on the jeans, they were really hard to pull up on the thigh, I don’t think I would have been able to pull them up if I went down a size.

I love high waisted jeans and I think that these come up at a nice place on my waist, and they also give me a butt! You know it’s going to be a good day when you find the right pair of jeans that fit so well. The pocket placement is very flattering.

Due to my short little legs, I found that I had to cut off quite a bit of length from the end (nothing new for me, actually). I was worried that it might ruin how much ‘kick’ these jeans have, as they obviously get more flared at the bottom, but I think they still have the same effect.

I paired these jeans with a white asymmetric button down shirt, which I have been wearing non-stop! I love the big tortoiseshell buttons that are everywhere at the moment, I think they are such a chic detail.
