Not truly one for patterns or anything super girly, but I’ve been trying to branch out and try some new things lately. Sartorial polka dots included.

I like wearing girly items like pretty dresses or flowy skirts with trainers or boots. It keeps the outfit feeling more me and less ‘cute girl’, which is something I absolutely abhor for myself. And these white classic tennis shoes from Nike have served me well. I got them a couple of years ago when I wanted a pair of white trainers, and Stan Smiths were everywhere at the time, but I didn’t want the same thing as everyone else.

This midlength skirt is very fun to wear. It looks good with any kind of top – this high neck one, or even a normal t-shirt. I can see it pairing well with knit jumpers when the weather gets colder, and even some leather boots if I can find a pair that I like. I’ve been leaning towards over the knee lengths for dresses and skirts… even though I’m quite short, I find this length quite flattering and not drowning on me.

I’ve also been really enjoying using this bag lately. It’s sort of like those string market bags that are everywhere lately (love them!), but this one is made of vegan leather and has a drawstring bag inside. It’s perfect to take to the beach and makes me happy every time I use it. The bag inside can also be removed.

I never thought I would say this, but polka dots might be the gateway drug into patterns for me this year.

Being a more curvy woman, I never felt comfortable wearing polka dots. I love that there are more accessories that can satisfy the “dot desire” without feeling uncomfortable! I love that skirt by the way!

I love polka dots and I love how you’ve styled this gorgeous skirt. I wouldn’t have thought to pair it with trainers, but it looks fab! x
